Answer 1: What about Jesus making wine, isn't moderate drinking ok?

Yes, Jesus made wine. Yes, there are Bible texts both for and against drinking. Let's review all of what the Bible says to say about the subject, add some science, then use reason to make a decision. Get started on this journey right here.

Answer 2: What about Paul saying we can eat all meat and what about Peter's vision about unclean meat?

Answer 3: Does Jesus still heal today? What about faith healing?

The simple answer is YES, Jesus does heal today using both natural, physical, and spiritual methods. Being free from disease is a victory no matter how it is attained. Are faith healings real? There are definately false 'Christs' out there. People who use the placebo effect, hype, and your belief to help your brain heal your own body, but at what cost? And yet, there is real help for those in dire straits. Read more here (scroll to the section "Terminal Illness & Faith Healling").

Answer 4: Jesus ate fish, why promote a vegetarian diet?

Yes, eating meat was done all through the Bible. In fact, God Himself, told the children of Israel to eat lamb. They were to sacrifice animals on a regular bases. But they were also to kill anyone who overate, committed adultery, or took the Lord's name in vain. Jesus died on the cross to fulfill the law, ceremonial and civil. Thus we see times, methodologies, and purposes change over time. 2000 years ago, animals and the planet were mostly health and strong. Today, we have so much disease, chemical spills, and toxins that animal food is no longer a safe choice. I could list hundreds of quotes from news articles and science journals, but I'll pick just a few. This is from a USA Resource Protection group supported by 500 lawyers, scientists and other professionals. Article can be found here: http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/mercury/guide.asp "Farmed Salmon may contain PCB's, chemicals with serious long-term health effects." "Fish contaminated by mercury can pose a serious health threat, particularly to children and pregnant women." "Certain fish, even some that are low in mercury, make poor choices for other reasons, most often because they have been fished so extensively that their numbers are perilously low." And from the NBC: http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/health/Could_your_seafood_contain_toxic_chemicals_-108694304.html "But 80 percent of the fish and shrimp Americans eat actually comes from overseas — and a TODAY investigation that aired Tuesday found that some of that seafood may contain toxic chemicals that can cause serious health problems. Footage taken by a U.S. advocacy group of seafood being raised in Vietnam, for example, showed fish in dirty sewage water, pumped with toxic antibiotics and banned drugs just to keep them alive, boosting production and driving down costs." Answer 5: Is diet the most important part of health or is there more?

Diet is a BIG part of our health that is for sure, but the Bible mentions our mental well being as affecting our health even more than any reference to diet. Answer 6: Is science trustworthy?

The Bible warns about coming deception from the world of science: "Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, 'What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.' They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood." 2 Peter 3:3-6, NLT. However, science that follows the scientific method, and not theories and assumptions, is very valid and should not be overlooked. Science is SAVING lives and true science supports the Bible in every way. Only the interpretations of information cause a discrepancy. Loma Linda University Hospital is on the cutting edge of science while renaming true to the Bible. You can have both - modern medicine and old traditions, but you do have to weed through the evidence yourself. Some doctors (especially in the USA) are 'old school' and not really as modern as you may think. They are still dishing out antibiotics for viral infections. They don't consider natural remedies that have been proven, or at least are supported by studies, to work. Like anything in life you have to use common sense. Answer 7: How can I deal with addictions?

We have a 7 step plan, with Biblical support, for dealing with addictions - click here to learn more.

Answer 8: Is all disease caused by our choices?

The Bible and science are clear, while much disease is from our choices, we don't have total control of our health. There is also genetics, random issues, and more. Learn more here.

Answer 9: Aren't we saved by faith so what does it matter?

It doesn't matter in terms of being saved. But it does matter in terms of health and longevity. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. "Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, NLT. The healthier we are, the longer we live with vitality, the more we can be a tool for God and the happier we are.
